Beginners:
Here at McKnight Crossings, we love our Babies. We provide a space for our MX Beginners to learn about Jesus. During this developmental stage, we simply want our babies to learn:
- God created everything.
- God blessed me with a family.
- Jesus is a special friend who will never leave me.
Curriculum
During worship, we offer a staffed nursery where families can ensure that their child(ren) is learning about God and his plan for us. We offer Cradle Roll during this time. Quarterly we rotate our cradle roll curriculum to follow four themes: God Made Me, God Created Families, God Created the World, and The Birth of Jesus.
Explorers:
We call the preschool-age "explorers" because, during this phase, preschoolers explore life through touch and play. They experience the journey of being a follower of Christ through tactile ways. In the preschool age group (3-5 years old), our goal is that every child knows with all of their heart:
- God made them.
- God loves them.
- Jesus wants to be their friend FOREVER!
Curriculum
During this age, we begin our school year curriculum that follows the elementary age group. Preschoolers will stay in their classroom from 9:30 through Bible Class.
Preschool: Room 201
Wonderers:
Our Kindergarten-second grade kids are called the “wonders” because they are learning how to wonder and ask more questions. Through wonder we get to help them process their part in God’s big story.
Kindergarten-2nd grade: 2nd floor @ class time, 10:45 a.m.
Navigators:
Our third-fifth grade are called the “navigators” because, during this phase, we give kids tools to navigate their faith and take it out into the world. There will be segmented teaching that focuses on life application that helps them take each bible story and apply it deeper. We will point kids back to God’s truth rather than our opinions.
3rd-5th grade: 3rd floor @ class time, 10:45 a.m.
Kids Praise:
Kindergarten through 5th-graders will be dismissed from the main service to Kids Praise following communion. After service ends, our children will transition to their grade specific bible classes. Children can be picked up at their classrooms at 11:30 a.m.
